Christmas with Bloom Girl Gardenia

Today I am sharing a Christmas card I made with the Bloom Girl Gardenia stamp.
This is my first attempt at using some of the Mixed Media things I see everyone doing.
I know this is nowhere near what some of the Mixed Media Guru's do, but, hey, it's my first attempt.

The Bloom Girl stamps are just amazing if you like to use lots of layers and lots of different mediums.

I used my new FAVORITE papers from Prima's Cigar Box Secrets for my backgrounds.
I colored with Derwent's Inktense Watercolor pencils and used a collage decoupage to seal and glue everything together.

I added snowflakes, Prima Finnabair metal trinkets, Prima Flowers and little candies to complete the Christmas look.

I love the way this turned out and I hope you like it too.  I was nervous to try my hand at the mixed media techniques, but now, I think I might be hooked.

Thanks for stopping by today.  This has been Jeannie from The Polka Cabana with today's Bloom Girl Design Team post.

Merry Christmas 'Summer'.

Hi there my crafty peeps. Today I have a card to share using the 'Summer' Stamp and ironically I made a Christmas Card using her. That's just how versatile these gorgeous stamps are!
While at Michaels last week I found these berries and poinsettias and they are a little big but I knew they would be PERFECT with this image! I LOVE the way this card came out.

If you haven't gotten this gorgeous image yet we have a list of stores you can buy from HERE.

Have you seen the Bloom Girl Video Library? Tons of Bloom Girl Projects to check out.

Hope you all have a wonderful Day!

Hugs, Mindy

Bloom Girl Sharon in Christmas mode by DT Stephanie!

Hi everyone!

Stephanie here on the blog today, again with a card BUT this time, there's a Christmas twist hidden somewhere with one of the Bloom Girls!

I decided to use Sharon and instead of leaving her butterflies in the open, I covered them with gorgeous flowers, wooden and metal embellishments, plus LOTS of yummy twine from Prima Marketing. Don't you think she looks full of joy? As always with my stamps, she's coloured with Copic markers, then fussy cut on some parts that are longer than my regular 5.5"x5." card shape, all edges inked. I'm very pleased with the way she turned out, and you'll definitely see more Bloom Girls on Christmas cards this month!

Thanks for visiting us today, and don't forget to check in on our Facebook group to see sneaks and many other fun things about the Bloom girls. OH and did you see?! Our sweet Jamie is having a dt call! Be sure to share your creation using the Bloom Girls products on our creative group, you never know if you might end up with an invitation from Jamie herself to be on the team, woohoo!!

Bloom Girl Gardenia card by DT Stephanie!

Hi everyone!

Stephanie here on the blog today, again with a card that I especially love with one of the Bloom Girls!

I decided to use Gardenia and add a little doodle here and there to her, celebrating today's optimist vibe. Even if the stamp size can be a bit unusual for a 5.5" squared card, I wanted to keep her whole and the flowers are making her pop even more, don't you think? So our gal Gardenia got coloured with Copic markers, then fussy cut, all edges blackened, got pumped on 3D foam adhesives, along on the Optimist patterned papers and some pink flowers from Prima Marketing.

October Challenge with DT Lisa

Hi everyone! It's Lisa here with you today and I'm bringing you my take on the October Challenge. Have you played along yet? You have all month long to participate! Just grab your fave Bloom Girl and get going. Here's the inspiration photo (as a quick reference) :

Current Challenge

And here's my take on the challenge photo. I used the same Bloom Girl stamp (Jing) and the colors:

What I did was to stamp her on black paper and heat emboss in white. Then I colored her in using pastel pencils. I added some highlights on the flowers using Viva Decor Precious Metal Color in Lilac and Copper. Her hair was darkened using Wink of Stella in black. And her lips and her one (showing eye) were glossified (hahha!) using Glaze. Oh! I also changed the color of the one purple flower. It WAS white. ;) Sneaky, huh? I just used a PITT Artist Stamper's Big Brush Pen to do that. The metal embellishment was painted with lime green acrylic paint then dabbed with black acrylic paint on top. Fun card that's easy to recreate.

Easy right? I always love seeing what everyone else creates during these challenges. I hope that you enjoy what WE create too and can see how easy it can be.

HAPPY MONDAY!

Bloom Girl Hope card by DT Stephanie!

Hi everyone!

Stephanie here on the blog today for a card with Bloom Girl Hope. She inspires me vision, and the concept of being open-minded to all that happens to you.

I stamped her twice, first on Xpress blend sheet and then on a patterned sheet from the gorgeous Cartographer line at Prima. The blank silhouette on Xpress paper got coloured with Copics markers (E000-00-21-11-04, R20, BV20-23-25-29, V91-95-99). I decided to cut the hair out of the Cartographer girl, leaving an opening for the flowers, and I traced the edges with black marker, then glued it on the first silhouette.

I also used other papers from the Cartographer collectionCartographer flowers, Cartographer flair, Ingvild Bolme resin frame from Prima Marketing, Tim Holtz long fasteners metal brads, Distrezz-it-all tool from Zutter.

Zombie Bloom Girl Gardenia.

Hi there crafty peeps It's Mindy here!

Since we have a gorgeous color combo/inspiration board I thought I'd make a Halloween Card. I used the Gardenia Bloom Girl Stamp. I wanted to make her look like a vampire or zombie, so I colored her lightly in my skin tone colors E11, E00, E000 then I went back with W5, W3, W1 and W00 to give her that 'dead pasty look'. I love the way it turned out. I had some flowers on this, but I thought it took away from the image, Soooo this was a no flower card. Shocking, right!?

Remember ..you don't have to use a Bloom Girl Stamp to enter.. and you could win a fabulous prize from Jamie Dougherty!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Joy In Fall - Card by DT Lisa

Hi everyone! Happy Monday. :) It's Lisa here with on the blog and I have a card to share with you. So here's the card and then let me tell you a little bit about it:

I decided to use the September Challenge inspiration colors for my card. They're wonderful warm colors and really very versatile. I used Jamie's Joy Bloom Girl stamp for my main focal image and I stamped her using an embossing ink, then heat set it using a metallic copper embossing powder.

All of my coloring is done using PanPastels. Yep, ALL of it. I'm taking Jamie's PanPastel Online Workshop and it's amazing! I'm learning so much already, but I feel like I want to learn everything. Ha!!  Here's a close-up of her:

The stamp is just gorgeous and those PanPastels really make her come to life. I'm probably biased here. ;) All of the beautiful flowers and leaves are from Prima's Free Spirit - Flower Power and I added a few random sequins for interest along with a metal embellishment (Finnabair Mechanicals - Vintage Trinkets - Leaves 1) .

Thanks for stopping by the blog today and don't forget to stop by the Facebook page and play along in our challenges which you can always find off to the right.

Have a wonderful week!

Bloom Girl Karlie card by DT Stephanie!

Hi everyone!

Stephanie here on the blog today for a little back-to-school touch with Bloom Girl Karlie. I love that she has brushes and all kinds of things in her hair, with a sharp look saying "I've got a creative mind!". She can be pretty much any style you want, that's why she fits perfectly for a back-to-school themed card. I also used some papers from the School Memories collection, black chalkboard flowers, purple die and Mechanicals elements from Prima Marketing.
